Poe Asphalt Paving Inc. Wins 4 National Awards for Quality in Asphalt Paving in 2022

Greenbelt, Md. — The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced today that Poe Asphalt Paving Inc. of Post Falls, Idaho, won a 2022 Quality in Construction Award for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement. The company was recognized today during the association’s 67th Annual Meeting.

“The asphalt pavement industry is committed to building high-quality projects that deliver superior performance to the traveling public. All contractors’ projects earning a Quality in Construction award are measured against best practices designed to live up to that commitment,” said 2022 NAPA Chairman James A. Mitchell. “Earning the Quality in Construction Award demonstrates that Poe Asphalt Paving Inc. has met or exceeded these rigorous standards.”

  •  Poe Asphalt Paving Inc. won the award for the the overlay of Mayview Road and North Deadman Road in Garfield County, Wash. The company held many discussions with the project owner to ensure that all the problems on these roads would be corrected with the overlay. By partnering with the Garfield County Public Works Department, and by using a material transfer vehicle with the paver, Poe Asphalt Paving produced a smooth, high-quality asphalt pavement. 
  •  Poe Asphalt Paving Inc. won the award for its work on 2.7 miles of US 95 in Cocolalla, Idaho. Working at night, the company milled the road and placed an asphalt overlay, often doing both grinding and paving during the same work shifts. While maintaining a a safe workplace for its crews and a safe commuting route for tens of thousands of daily commuters, Poe Asphalt Pavement produced a smooth, high-quality asphalt pavement. 
  •  Poe Asphalt Paving won the award for its work on Spokane International Airport Drive. Since the road is the only entrance into this busy airport, the company conducted multiple milling operations during the day in order to pave back large sections of the road at night. The company had to always maintain one lane of traffic. Despite the challenges, Poe Asphalt Paving produced a smooth, high-quality asphalt pavement that will serve airport users well. 
  •  Poe Asphalt Paving won the award for its work on 5.4 miles of SH 3 in Clarkston, Idaho. The project inclued cold milling to three different depths, plus paving to three different depths along the project length to ensure a smooth and consistent pavement. Poe Asphalt Paving partnered with the Idaho Transportation Departmet to develop a plan that helped ensure motorist safety and project eficiency. The company produced a high-quality asphalt pavement that will serve area motororists well.
